The Sales Reporting module is the interface through which licensees provide sales data in accordance with contractual reporting arrangements. The Sales Reporting module collects sales data, calculates royalties, and manages accounts. The reporting process is streamlined and licensors do not have to re-key the data once it is uploaded. With this module, licensors can effectively mandate and monitor reporting deadlines and milestones. The licensor sales database is automatically populated with the latest data and it can be displayed in the PivotTable or exported to general business applications like Microsoft Word or Excel.
Sales can be reported by retail price, wholesale price, off-price, or royalty-free status in terms of units, dollars, SKUs, returns, allowances, discounts, deductions, and promotions. Data can be reviewed by licensee, contract, account, property, territory, rights, or SKUs. Sales Reporting also supports royalty calculations (including foreign currencies and tiers), and e-mail alerts when there is inconsistent data.
Reports can be generated and viewed in real-time or exported to Microsoft Excel. Pre-built Crystal Reports provide enhanced printing options and navigation controls for large reports while the browser reports provide instant sales data.
The Accounts task lets both licensors and licensees create and edit licensee sales accounts. These accounts represent the vehicle through which licensees report sales data for the products covered under the contract agreement with the licensor. To create an account, you must supply an account name and number, location information, and a contact name, who is an individual that the licensor may contact regarding this account. When you edit an account, you are prompted to search for the account by name. Then you can display and edit the account information.
Licensee only. The Entry task lets licensee users enter sales figures, and make any necessary adjustments, for a selected contract and the products, territories, and distribution channels that it covers. When you select a particular contract, the data tree for that contract is displayed. To report sales data, you select a specific product, territory, and sales distribution channel to report on. This generates and displays a custom reporting template into which you enter your sales data.
Licensee only. The Upload task uploads sales data from licensees. Sales data can be entered directly in BRMS or uploaded as an ASCII flat file. Sales entered through the browser can be totaled live on the page for review prior to submission. Transactional sales data is submitted by licensees and an audit trail tracks all submissions and adjustments. The contract between licensor and licensee determines the products for which sales reporting is required. The reporting period for each licensee is configurable and you can make adjustments to previous reporting periods as needed.
This task is used to make adjustments to previously reported sales records.
